The short version

School Shelf keeps a private list of your school ebook links. We only collect what we need to run your shelf. We don't show ads, we don't track you around the web, and we never sell or share your information.

Who we are

School Shelf (schoolshelf.ie) is run by an independent developer based in Ireland. If you have any question about your data, email .

What we collect

Some publisher links contain a code that signs you in to that publisher. We treat every link as private: only you can see your shelf.

Why we use it

Only to provide School Shelf to you: signing you in, saving your shelf, and sending emails you ask for (such as confirming your address or resetting your password). The legal basis is providing the service you signed up for.

Who helps us run it

They process data only on our instructions. When you click "Read book", you go to the publisher's website, and their own privacy policy applies there.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete my account. That permanently deletes your account and every book on your shelf straight away.

Your rights

Under GDPR you can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Email and we'll reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).

Students under 16

School Shelf is built for secondary students. If you are under 16, please check with a parent or guardian before creating an account.

Cookies

We only use what's needed to keep you signed in. There are no advertising or analytics cookies.

To see how many people visit, we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It sets no cookies, doesn't identify you, and only counts things like page views and which pages are popular.
